Web Architect
Position Scope
We are looking for an experienced Web architect to join immediately! This is a fantastic opportunity to own and lead the development of a highly robust, scalable and high performance web services portal for our customers comprising of the some of the largest mobile operators in the world. The candidate will closely work with the server side application team and will be actively involved in the planning, specification, and implementation of the entire server application suite.
Key Responsibilities
The web architect will work closely with the applications and marketing teams to architect and develop the web presence as per the company's business objectives. The responsibilities will include the following:
- Designing and implementing a user centric portal for the company’s customers
- Creating a mobile savvy user experience with particular attention to robustness, usability and performance under bandwidth challenged conditions
- Selection and integration of open source components and libraries, third party tool selection for rapid application development
- Utilize and evangelize best of breed programming techniques including design patterns, re-usable and modular development
Position Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of full lifecycle development of a multi-tiered web application including developing, shipping and supporting critical web applications
- Demonstrable end-user interface development skills and understanding of user centric interface design principles
- Ability to quickly master new web technologies and push the envelope for performance and reliability
- Object oriented programming and defensive coding ability accompanied with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- In-depth debugging skills; ability to reach out and use team strengths to solve problems
- Ability to work independently and in small collaborative teams
- Ability to work with local and off-shore teams and with mobile operators and social networking sites
Required Experience
- At least 5 experience of extensive web technologies development using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, J2EE, application frameworks such as JMS, Struts, JSP and Servlets. Advanced development techniques including SOA, AJAX, dynamic data driven pages, XML and SOAP interfaces.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP and Ruby.
Education
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant discipline and experience.
