PixSense Announced As A Finalist For Andrew Seybold Choice Awards 2007 For Best New Company
Santa Clara, CA – March 19, 2007 – Andrew Seybold, Inc., a wireless industry consulting firm that advises both Fortune 1000 organizations and emerging companies announces PixSense as a finalist for the Andrew Seybold Choice Awards in the category of “Best New Company” for its PSP (Preserve, Share, Publish) Platform. The PixSense PSP Platform is the first product of its kind that is built to handle the “real” mobile world. It enables mobile subscribers to easily, securely, and cost-effectively preserve, share, and publish the media they create right from their camera phones. PixSense simplifies the process of managing media files– photos, videos, audio, blogs and text – without the need for a PC.
The key themes in this year’s awards are “imagine,” “innovate” and “impact.” The awards recognize innovative products and concepts that are making or have the potential to make a positive impact on our wireless mobility. All nominations submitted must have been commercially deployed between January 2006 and February 15, 2007.
“This year we received an overwhelming number of entries for our awards,” said Andy Seybold, President and CEO of Andrew Seybold, Inc. ”We judged the products and services for their impact on the wireless market, how they embrace new, innovative technologies, how easy they are to use and how they simplify the user experience."
“We are honored and delighted to be chosen as a finalist for the Andrew Seybold Choice Awards in the category of Best New Company,” said Faraz Hoodbhoy, CEO of PixSense. “The PixSense PSP™ Platform was built from the consumer’s perspective to solve the problem of managing and sharing high resolution media created from mobile phones, and was built from the wireless carrier’s perspective to drive top-line revenue, reduce churn, and reduce their ongoing OpEx. Our platform is changing the economics of high-end media management over today’s mobile wireless data networks and solves what our industry calls ‘the camera phone monetization problem.’ We look at this nomination and our growing customer successes as validation of our business focus.”
Today mobile subscribers use increasingly higher resolution camera phones to take hundreds of billions of photographs and videos each year. However, due to a series of technology and usability constraints, subscribers do not yet have the ability to easily distribute their mobile media. PixSense PSP™ subscribers can easily and cost-effectively preserve, share, and publish the media they create directly from their camera phones. By just snapping a picture or recording a video, users get secure automated photo and video-uploading, smart categorization, automatic memory management, intelligent image quality enhancement, personal publishing and sharing services (including phone-to-phone and phone-to-Web), storage, and full-featured galleries on both the Web and the phone.
The PixSense PSP Platform makes it easy for carriers to host services for their subscribers while giving them complete control of their media files directly from the handset, including posting media and comments to social networks and sharing media mobile- to-mobile via the Internet.
